The Jamaica Hospitals League of Friends is constantly responding to requests from regional and smaller hospitals, health clinics etc. across Jamaica. With the guidance and support of the Ministry of Health we have identified varying needs for health care equipment to address deficiencies in local provision.

Since its inception a significant number of items have been dispatched to these health facilities. Over the years the following are some of the hospitals which have received supplies:

  • Bustamante Children Hospital
  • Cornwall Regional Hospital
  • Falmouth Hospital
  • Lucea Hospital, Black River
  • Mandeville Regional Hospital
  • May Pen Hospital
  • Sir John Golding (Mona Rehab)
  • University Hospital of the West Indies
  • Port Antonio General Hospital
  • Port Maria Hospital
  • Princess Margaret Hospital
  • Sandy Bay Community Health Clinic
  • Savanna La Mar Hospital
  • Spanish Town Hospital
  • St Ann’s Bay Hospital
  • Noel Holmes Memorial

Recent JHLOF Achievements

Last consignment to MOH. consisted mostly of incontinence wear, diabetes monitors and a range of mobility aids – the Healthcare Enhancement Foundation staff confirmed distribution list – KPH, Su John Golding Rebab centre, Spanish Town, Princess Margaret, Linstead.

Sometimes we do not name specific health facility to be benefitted. The donations are then handed over to the National Health Fund (NHF) Warehouse and become part of their stock. The NHF Warehouse stock and manages the distribution of donated items on behalf of the Ministry of Health. Of importance is that the Warehouse managers are very familiar with the needs of hospitals/facilities and would distribute based on a need basis.
